Michael Wright learned photography basics and how to print in his high school photography class darkroom.
He furthered his education extensively at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Photography.  First photo assisting work was for TC Reiner while a student there.

Professor Paul Meyer is the one who sent Michael for an internship that turned to a full time photographic assistant job with Richard Avedon.  Michael continued to work in photography as a freelance photo assistant with Patrick Demarchelier, and then later on with Annie Leibovitz, finally landing a full time photographic assistant job with Irving Penn.

Michael credits Irving Penn for inspiring him on food and still life photographic images.



Currently located in Napa County, Ca up the mountain by Lake Berryessa.

Food and still life images are Michael’s focus.
