Michael Wright began his journey at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then acquired an internship that turned to a full time photographic assistant job with Richard Avedon. Michael continued to work in photography as a freelance photo assistant with Patrick Demarchelier and, then later on, with Annie Leibovitz, finally landing a full time photographic assistant job with Irving Penn.
Michael credits Irving Penn for inspiring him on food and still life work.
Currently located in Napa County, CA; up the mountain by Lake Berryessa.
